Caps-Thrashers Preview

I’ve been waiting for this day for months. After how the Caps season ended, the offseason couldn’t go by any quicker because I want to forget about what happened in the playoffs. I’m definitely optimistic about this season but sort of speculative as well considering how things ended. Regardless, I am ready to unleash the fury tonight as the Caps get ready to start a new season with their game against the Thrashers tonight.

Okay, so that was cheesy and short but I’m working on 10 minute notice here. Not really any game notes other than I’m curious to see how the Poti-Carlson defensive pairing does. Also excited to hear that Marcus Johansson made the team and is centering the third line tonight. Michal Neuvirth is getting the start at goalie with Semyon Varlamov on the IR (again). Odd that the Thrashers are starting Ondrej Pavelec instead of Chris Mason. Guess that makes this game the battle of Czech goaltenders, eh? Fuck, I’m awful. Here’s the line combos.
