Caps/Lightning recap

Three words can describe it:

It sure as hell didn’t look like a team who was playing for first place in the division. They had some momentum early on but completely gave up once Tampa jumped on top 2-0. Games like this happen, but it’s a frightening sign that Washington haven’t played well against a division rival, one that’s improved a lot this year. Dwayne Roloson hasn’t surrendered a goal against Washington in 6 straight periods against Washington. That’s certainly not a comforting thought for Caps fans. All I can say is that the team’s top players need to wake up (Backstrom, I’m looking right at you) and the powerplay needs to improve. Two atrocious performances in back-to-back nights. Nice work, Washington.

Figured I should put as much effort into this recap as they did in tonight’s game.
